Avidyne iPad IFD Trainer for X-Plane

I am using the Avidyne-supplied iPad app that provides an IFD440/540/550 trainer/simulator for use with X-Plane.  I am using this IFD440/540/550 app in conjunction with the TorqueSim SR22 Entegra (DFC90) aircraft.  The iPad app works fine - talks to X-Plane and mostly works (tunes radios for example) - but it fights with the GNS430 #1 - especially when trying to control the autopilot.

Is there a way to disable the GNS430 #1 in the panel - so that the iPad app can fill that role (as it is trying to do)?  I can deal with Lua scripts if needed.

BTW, I tried pulling the GNS430 #1 "breaker" - and that appears to "turn off" the unit - but there is still some kind of fighting going on - where the GNS430 continues to send conflicting navigation commands.

Thanks!
