Hello All,

This will serve as a formal forum announcement that we have released the version 1.6 update for the Take Command! Saab 340A. All customers who have purchased the Saab 340A up till now have been sent an e-mail by X-Aviation with complete instructions on how to obtain your update. We have made this a very simple process! For those that purchase the Saab 340A from today forward, your purchased download will already be updated to version 1.6 for you.

What if I didn't get the update e-mail?

If you did not receive your update e-mail don't fret! X-Aviation has updated our system to allow all customers to update with ease, regardless of whether you received an e-mail for the update! Here's what to do:

1. Login to your X-Aviation account here: https://www.x-aviation.com/catalog/account_history.php

2. Find your original Saab 340A download and re-download the file. It will download as the latest version!

The following is a list of additions/fixes included:

What's New / Changed:

  • All manipulators have been remodeled. Most manipulators have new manipulator logic implemented.

Related to a file that didn't get copied over to the Cargo or Airborne variant. You can get around this by copying Annunciator_LIT.dds out of the passenger variant object folder, and overwrite the same file in the AEW and Cargo variants.

We are fixing this up in the installer as well.

Yes! Works like a charm. Thanks!

Did quick take off and long flight playing with Xsaitek, so far plane looks good, Juts need to sort out the speed bug ref, i was in previous version looking at the plane speed not the bug speed as i thought, , when i point it to the bug speed  dataref, teh data ref wont change . ill think on this one

Sorted, was looking at wrong ref and mistook ANM for ARM. Make sure the rest of it works.

Hey Pilots,

I´ve flown the Saab in earlier builds without any problems. With the newest version my engines just shut down appr. 1 minute after departure. I´ve  tried for the past 2 hours to solve this problem. Even occurs after using the auto start feature. Everything is in the green area, I do have enough fuel, I just can´t make out the problem.

Just me with that problem or anyone else experiencing similar behaviour?

Thanks for the update. Much appreciated.

I do find the throttle behaves strangely and sometimes not response to my throttle input. Also, I cannot get CTOT to work for some reasons.

Thanks again for the update.

Please be as specific as possible.  Fast movement of throttle hardware can get out of sync with the manipulators.  You can use the TQ viewer to see if you are out of sync.

CTOT was tested and working fine. Again, please be more specific.

Thanks for this comprehensive update. On my MacPro running Mojave (OS 10.14) I was able to uninstall and install 1.5.1 and run with no issues. However I did get an error similar to that reported by TimNewst when I tried to update my S340 on my Big Sur system (OS 11.2). I am getting an error running the uninstaller. I tried removing the plane and the Gizmo plug in file but the installer still wanted to do an uninstall. The error I got was:

There has been an error:

Error running /Users/Username/Desktop/X-Plane 11/X-Aviation/Uninstall Saab 340A.app/Contents/MacOS/installbuilder.sh : dyld: dyld cache load error: shared cache

Catalina and Big Sur have extra security hoops but I did not see any of those warnings.

The plane was great until 1.6 update. With update 1.6 some problems are fixed, but more appears, like:

1.       HDG Slave is not working;

2.       The landing gear cannot be activate thru the controller;(designated button)

3.       The autopilot cannot be deactivated thru the controller;(db)

4.       The throttle of the plane behave very strange;(db)

5.       The reversers are no longer working thru the controller;(db)

6.       The friction of the plane is worst then the previous version. With the plane fully configured, flaps full, gear down and throttle at IDLE, all the descent, the plane is coming to HOT at landing, with more than 110 knots.

Does anyone encounter these problems?

Thanks,

So you're saying the previous version was BETTER than 1.6?

With the wildly swinging engine temperatures and torque?

I'm going to keep it courteous and respectful.  I would rather you ask for help, instead of making snarky remarks.  But you do whatever you want to do, while I address your issues with this free update.

HDG Slave is NOT HDG Sync

This now works correctly.

We're looking into this.  In the meantime, you can grab the gear handle with the mouse and drag it up.

3.       The autopilot cannot be deactivated thru the controller

Did you re-assign your key/button presses?

This does nothing for me to be able to help you.

Tested and working.

The friction of the plane now matches the charts much more closely.

Hi and thanks for your feedback,

I didn't have problems with the engines before, temp. or torq., maybe I didn't notice this issues before.

Also I didn't change noting in the controller and is simply not working!

But to came with the plane with no throttle on landing, I think is the ultimate dream for an airliner :))... usually with the plane fully configure you have to apply some thrust, otherway the plane normally is falling from the sky!!!
