Image distortions

Hi all,

here are some of my findings with SMP v5 (Windows 10, X-Plane 11.51 Vulkan, Intel 8700K, AMD Radeon VII 16GB vidmem, 32GB G.Skill 3200 sysram).

Plugins used:

Some image distortions still are present:

Switching back and forth between min. and max. window size a few times may help a little bit, but this obviously doesn't solve the problem, and also won't help in fullscreen mode. So this still needs some further investigation.

SMP5 still reports an incorrect size of available video memory (-1506MB ;)):

And what about the incorrect amount of video memory reported by SMP?

That's down to AMD's drivers. You can ignore this. It's pretty much always been that way since day one years ago. Works perfect for Nvidia.

AMD is already informed about this specific driver bug?

I would think so. I know Laminar at least tries to have dialog with them!

I have made some similar observation with my NVidia card, the cockpit glass shadows seem to be altered or affected by SMP in some ways, at least they look or behave weird now.

Look at the strange horizontal shadow line in the ceneter of this image:

And here there is some shadow looking like a haze artifact but in fact it's part of a misplaced shadow on the glass - this one was gone after changing cloud draw distance:

So it might be possible, that AMD are not aware of this problem?

If this is the case, do you still recommand your product for use with AMD hardware?

Or better wait with a purchase, until the problem is solved?

BTW:

SMP v5.04 enabled (checkerboard) and disabled:
