And it asked me to restore the c++ settings

Normal, as stated by the installer if you already have it installed.

Your setup appears more than capable for this aircraft. This is very odd, Simon.

Let's start with the basics:

1. Run the CRJ Tester Installer.

2. When installing the C++ package, this time select to remove it.

3. After installation of the tester is finished, restart your computer.

4. Once your computer has booted back up, run the installer again. This time it should proceed with a regular C++ install without asking you to repair or remove.

5. Run the tester.

If this fails, please report back here and send your log.txt file in your main X-Plane folder to me in a PM attachment.

Thanks Cam, I'm away from pc so will redo in 12 or so hrs. My thoughts precisely, I thought I should be able to run it!

Do you ever sleep? Isnt it about 2am where u are?

Almost 6am. Seems like I never do at times when I pull these all day/nighters.

Please do keep us posted with results!

If you make those things Simon and still not working, then... drivers drivers and drivers... new ones... a little older if not.. Always are the same.. the graphics cards.... in this case 99.9999% is becasue the graphic cards... and their drivers.

That W2753 graphic card is strange to me....

yes yes.. I know maybe people would say "but it works perfect on xplane with opengl and other opengl applications" Yes.. I know... but this plane is using a different opengl solution... qt libraries.. etc.... so... DRIVERS, DRIVERS AND DRIVERS....

Lets see if you can solve it!

Thanks Javier, hopefully it's straightforward. If I need to regress to an older nvidia driver, do you know of  any sites that hold the older drivers? I can't see any myself, at least not obvious to me.

Can't wait to try it in the morning! As excited as if it was the real deal, pathetic...

W2753 is not the graphics card :) That's his monitor, a LG.  ;)

The NVidia GTX 257 is his card, although its' temperature is a bit high (not too high). Mine never exceeds 70° (GTX 570 OC) at idle fan speed.

Sorry Simon,

that sucks. >;) Your computer seems very powerful, so a that is a bit strange. I hope you get it working! :)

Thanks Perry and others, it's like a death in the family eh! Not really...

Good to iron things out before the real deal- imagine my disappointment on release! A good test then.

My pc is not bad, almost 2yrs old and seems ok for xplane @ mostly max settings and A-10c @ close to max. My first gen i7 is not as quick as Ola's new brand i5, good to see progress finally. GPUs seem to have leveled out though - my gtx 275 was 100 times faster than the one I replaced from 5 yrs earlier. Now, the newer cards are only twice it's speed, so I can wait longer still. The GTX590 looks amazing, quadruple my speed, so when it's $250 or so I'll jump at it. Just superb power available nowadays for half the price of a console.

All OK now Cameron, Javier and Philipp! Thanks! I followed Cam's instructions and all was fine, so must have been that restore.

I was getting 107fps around LESA, so i'll take half of that thankyou very much. Finally, some tech that takes advantage of multicores. (I can't help thinking of Leeloo saying 'multipass' whenever I say multicores).

Great! Glad to hear, Simon!

Yeah, a relief. Just posted a nice overview at the Blog. You guys are really approaching this the right way, well done.
