For the VR enthusiasts. Minor tweaks to make the VR experience even better

For those of you that enjoy the amazing experience of flying our favorite GA aircraft in VR, update 1.1.7 brings the most important fixes to the VR experience that we’ve identified before. A big "thank you" to our developers!

However, I’ve noticed that there are still some minor issues that need some ironing to make the VR experience even better and more immersive. I’m listing here my own findings, but please feel free to add some other issues that you may have found, so we can provide to the developers a comprehensive list for them to check, making their lives easier.

  • HUD. This is now working in VR, but there is a mismatch projection between the right and left eyes, so you get really dizzy when looking at it.
  • Wings ice effect. This is also now working in VR, but as for the HUD, the right and left eyes see different things, and it makes you quite dizzy just by looking at it. As for the HUD, this is quite disturbing, so you end up switching off the ice-effect. The rain effect works just fine, and it is really a great improvement for VR.
  • Nose up/down scroll knob in the autopilot control panel. This works now in VR by twisting (as for the ALT selector). It should work by dragging it up and down. There was a previous post about this.
  • Trim wheel, crash bar, and engine power control. It is quite obvious how you have to operate them, so the colored line that indicates how to operate it is really a disturbing thing that completely breaks the VR immersion. You won’t find any of this in other aircraft with a carefully crafted VR configuration (like the 737 ZIBO).
  • Trim wheel. It should work by *rotating* the wheel, not by dragging it up and down.
  • Knob manipulators. *All* those with an up-down switching, like source and generator in the electric power, ignition, AUX BP selector, flaps, icing, etc. work in a rather unintuitive way. For all VR aircrafts (say 737 ZIBO), you manipulate them as expected in real life, by grabbing the knob and them moving it up or down. In the TMB 900 they work as if having a “ghost bottom” up or down of the lever. Note that other manipulators with a switch, like the auto/manual fuel selector work fine, by “pushing” the manipulator in VR in the desired position.
  • FMS navigation knob. Selecting the inner wheel in VR is a pain in the neck, since the sweet spot to select it is very small.

  These may seem like a long list, but I think most of these have a very easy fix, and would make the VR experience even more immersive.
