stuarth
Can someone advise me how to set, adjust and use desired VS in the Saab340A for an RNAV LOC approach without a glideslope? I can't find how to set a desired vertical speed in this aircraft.
tADEUS73
On the thrust console/central panel between the seats where the autopilot is activated is also a round black adjuster. It has rings around it and one ring on the top in the center. The ring on the top goes -VS (to the front) and +VS (to the back). Simply turning it a little bit and holding will increase the vertical speed in the direction you want to (don't need to drag it across half the cockpit like I did, it's sensitive to time and not distance :>). In the options there is the option to activate a helper that will show you the current VS information in the top of the screen (similar like there is one for the HDG knob), so you don't have to look at both the adjuster and the main electronic display at the same time to check how much you have changed it. stuarth
Many thanks for the excellent explanation. BTW, do you know if it's possible to assign a key or button to adjust this VS ring?
N1K
Yes, it is LES > CMD > APCP > Pitch wheel Neg / Pos Edited February 27, 2019 by N1K
Goran_M
Just to add to this. The VS ring and HDG ring (The ring around the VS ring) are both spring loaded. That's why it's a click, drag slightly, and hold. Letting it go will snap it back to the centre.
