  1. Hello, Sometimes during cruise (usually not on the first but on subsequent legs) I will lose all navigational capability including heading. Looking at the IRS status, all is blank (see attached screenshot). This has happened at least three times now, so I've paid extra attention to the steps taken during turnaround. I've consistently reset the FMC by cycling databases, and then entering the GNSS1 position in the POS INIT page. Shutting down all power to the aircraft and starting cold & dark also did not prevent this from happening. I am aware of the Realignment IRUs Immediately option but of course I would like to avoid this from happening in the first place. I'm sure I'm doing something wrong, but I cannot figure it out... Any help from someone more experienced would be greatly appreciated!
  2. Hello, I flight on IVAO and we need to fill an flight plan before each flight. For the equipment on board I found this for an 733: SDFHIRWY/H PBN/B3B4B5D3D4 It's correct? It not need an NAV/ too? Thanks Pat.
  3. Hello I've recently purchased the Saab 340 and this is my first aircraft which has its LNAV and VNAV based of the Garmin GPS, So you can tell I already ran into some problems. After loading in my route and activating the first leg I take off and at about 500 feet i activate the button labeled NAV and Climb, after which the plane procedues to spiral into the ground. Another thing I've noticed is that the FD indicator is always pointing away form the course I've set on the GPS. any bit of help is appreciated. as far as specs go this is what i run: XP: 10.51 (latest release) Saab 340 1.3 Win 10: GTX 1060, 16gb ram, Intel core i7
  4. Will someone, in the know (possibly Tom), please explain the function of the folder named "fmc_data" directly inside the IXEG 737 Classic folder? I'm wondering if there might be conflicts with this data, and the navdata gleaned from the navigraph database.
  5. In the real Learjet 45 Pilot (P) and Copilot (CP) each have a PFD with an HSI display on their side. P and CP both have a display controler (DC) on each of their side. On these DCs the P and CP can choose (among other things) which is the active NAV SOURCE for THEIR respective HSI. They can choose between NAV1, NAV2 and FMS. I've found two datarefs available that can select the NAV SOURCE for an HSI on P side and on the CP side: Sim/cockpit2/radios/actuators/HSI_source_select_pilot Sim/cockpit2/radios/actuators/HSI_source_select_copilot 0=NAV1, 1=NAV2, 2=FMS Unfortunately the standard instrument "but_hsi_12GPS" only drives the "HSI_source_select_PILOT" dataref. Question 1: Is there an instrument to drive the "HSI_source_select_COPILOT" dataref? Or do I have to use a generic instrument? Question 2: Can you show two different HSI displays - one on P side (driven by HSI_source_select_pilot) and one on CP side (HSI_source_select_COPILOT)? I have only found the "el_hsi_circle_full" instrument and that is driven only by datarefs for the PILOT side. Actually there are a number of questions more -> there are a lot of _COPILOT datarefs by I can not find a way to drive those datarefs nor can I find a way to bind standard instruments to the COPILOT side. Thank you for your help! Discussion opened :-)
  6. The website XPOND - the crowd sourced "Open Nav Data for X Plane" can be found here: --> http://xpond.herokuapp.com Having found a lot of missing FIX points in the default earth_fix.dat, I started to build a new website to add custom FIX points as simple as possible. Because the information for FIX points is often provided in Lat-Lon degrees instead of Lat-Lon decimals the process was very tedious. With the new website you just add the Latitude and Longitude of the new FIX either in decimal or degree format plus the corresponding name. Hit the -add- button and you are done. You can simply download the whole crowd sourced FIX database and add all the FIXes to the earth_nav.dat -- I know Philipp is working on a completely new navdata infrastructure for X Plane 10 (hopefully on an improved standard FMS as well) as seen and described here: http://forums.x-pilot.com/index.php/topic/5040-navdata-1304-star-problem/ Meanwhile, I would like to give everybody the opportunity to use this tool and share new FIXes to everybody as soon as possible. So let's get started at XPOND: http://xpond.herokuapp.com
  7. Hi, I've been watching over these forums for a little while now and have managed to figure out answers to most of my questions from the help on here and my own tinkerings. My latest problem however has me baffled. I am trying to script some custom dataref sources for the implementation of a nav radio that provides a bearing output for the standby frequency. My thinking rightly or wrongly is that I should be able to briefly swap the main and standby nav frequencies in code grab the relative_bearing_deg dataref based on the now swapped frequency info and store in a new custom dataref before reverting the frequencies back to original. what i'm finding is that although a snap shot of the frequencies shows they are swapped at that point in the code, the relative_bearing_deg dataref at the same point in code still reports the bearing for the original main frequency and not the frequency that is now swapped into the main location. What am I missing here? The code at the point of setting the standby bearing dataref is shown below. Before and after this code (not shown) are functions to swap the main and standby frequencies. The functions are independently called in order directly from main. local test_relative_bearing_deg = xp.getDataref("sim/cockpit2/radios/indicators/nav1_relative_bearing_deg") local test_stby_bearing = xp.getFloat(test_relative_bearing_deg) xp.setFloat(test4, test_stby_bearing) I'm new to gizmo and x-plane so hopefully its just something basic that i'm overlooking.
