Hello, and welcome to Environment+, or Enviro+ for short! The new and improved mod for your sim environment! The Enviro is what we've done to make the sim so much more immersive, and the + is your contribution to it! We love seeing what people will add on top of it! From skycolours, to cloud textures, to tweaks of the .lua itself! This mod primarily came about when I noticed that most other .luas had their clouds placed as much as 7,000+ feet above where they were supposed to be! To bring the weather back down to its proper layer and keep it looking nice was a difficult, time consuming task, but with the help of MagikarpDrowned (Creator of the famous Project Better X-Plane), we've crafted an amazing new environment. This of course isn't simply a .lua tweak, which is why it's not called any old .lua tweak. It's an environment tweak, and that means it comes with cloud textures! Courtesy of FSEnhancer's amazing work laying out the clouds, and Magikarp's tweaks to their already fantastic puffs, we've got some perfect fits for the new environment! I greatly encourage using the skycolours from the aforementioned mod, or Soft Cloud Art's similarly stunning skycolours! But, you may be wondering, "What if the textures tank my FPS? What if it doesn't perform as well? What if I just don't have the VRAM for it?" Well, I had thought about that a lot, and that's why the .lua was primarily built to focus on making the DEFAULT cloud textures as magnificent as possible. If you have performance issues, or just prefer the look, I greatly encourage you try out the default X-Plane 11 cloud textures with this .lua! Which leads me to tell you to MAKE A BACKUP OF YOUR DEFAULT CLOUDS. They can be found in Resources/bitmaps/world/clouds. Now, the .lua was designed to be the tweaking man's .lua, so if you encounter issues, performance or visual, dive into the .lua! I've written down some notes and suggestions within it for you to be mindful of, and I highly encourage you toy around with the various settings to see what sticks with you! To install Enviro+, dive into the Enviro+ folder and place Resources in your X-Plane installation folder, right where the .exe is! It'll ask you to overwrite some cloud textures. If you use vanilla or other cloud textures that you don't wish to replace right now, simply choose not to overwrite, and everything else will install as planned! I hope you enjoy Enviro+, and I can't wait to see how it might evolve in the future! Take care, and have at 'er! Requires FlyWithLua https://forums.x-plane.org/index.php?/files/file/38445-flywithlua-complete-edition-for-x-plane-11-windows-linux-mac-os-x-version/ Clouds courtesy of FSEnhancer, without it I wouldn't have such fitting clouds to go with the .lua! Do please check out their Skycolours too! Ooh and ESPECIALLY their sun textures! Their sun textures in particular are stupidly amazing! https://forums.x-plane.org/index.php?/files/file/41411-fsenhancer-alpha-version/ Shoutout to Soft Cloud Art for inspiring me to finish up the finer details of this .lua, and also having some amazing Skycolours of its own! https://forums.x-plane.org/index.php?/files/file/40952-soft-cloud-art/

  3. Hello fellow X-Plane pilots! Here is my HD Unique Clouds Variety Pack available here https://sellfy.com/p/qhBx/ for just $10 USD These are a set of 8 HD double default resolution (unique smoke textures included for all 8 at standard res), as well as standard resolution replacements to the the default cloud textures for X-Plane 10/11 Flight Simulator. They are for the budget oriented pilot in mind. They were procedurally generated, and meticulously blended using high-end CGI software used in feature films, not a single photo was used. I tried to get them to be complimentary in their appearance as well as unique in their variety. They are zipped in a format with the folder structure of the default location for cloud textures in your X-Plane directory so that you can easily drop them in your MODS folder if you use JSGME (a generic mod enabler). That method is recommended if you want to be able to easily switch them out each time you fly, as well as REMOVE THEM BEFORE AN UPDATE Also much thanks to Laminar Research! The new default clouds provide such an excellent benchmark for this work. Teaser video below.
  4. Hi Everyone, Usually I have probs with SMP. I't's a great product. soo..now Using x-plane 11 with SMP 4 and getting blocky clouds and weird shadows. Tried different settings. When I get to climbing out, clouds seem to come to looking halfway normal. Also, setting values to lowest will get halfway decent clouds but not good. On my system, there shouldn't be any problem as all other versions I've had no real hard problems like this. photos/screenshots below. Thanks for any help!!! Think I should re-install?
  5. Hi, I just bought and installed Skymaxx Pro 4 + Real Weather Connector 1.1 on X-Plane 11 beta 2. Basically everything is working, except for the following artifacts I noticed (see attached pictures). In the first picture you can notice clouds drawn beyond what should be the visibility limit imposed by current weather conditions (real METAR gave 2000 meters of ground visibility when the flight was conducted and X-Plane was set to retrieve real weather conditions). The second picture shows random artifacts in form of dark strips floating in the sky. Not sure if this is an issue with SMP4 or if it's a flaw in X-Plane rendering engine. Best regards, Filippo
  6. A few pics before i empty my overloaded pic folder hehe Tony
  7. File Name: Real Terra Haze File Submitter: SPAS File Submitted: 05 May 2014 File Category: Plugins and Utilities Current version is 2.11 This is an add-on script for FlyWithLua based on the findings of user PASCAL_LSGC over at AVSIM about the raleigh scattering controls. It implements these controls so they are automatically tuned based on the sun elevation (the light veers towards reddish tones when the sun is low on the horizon) and plane altittude (gains go up as you go up). Requires FlyWithLua!!! Get it here please take time to read this from Ben Supnik The art controls are not a public interface to make X-Plane add-ons. They are an internal development tool. They are unsupported, undocumented, unsafe, and most importantly subject to change with every patch of X-Plane. If you create an add-on that requires reading or writing the art controls, you can expect that your add-on will stop working when X-Plane is updated. When your add-on breaks, please do not complain or file a bug. Just slap the scripts in your ../resources/plugins/FlyWithLua/scripts folder. Please read the readme. If you have installed Sky Maxx Pro, the shadows of the clouds will not be displayed. Script by SPAS (leave him a PM on the forum if you want) Thanks to MAT18590 for all the support and inspiration (and for setting the RGB and raleigh values straight) content kindly provided by x-pilot users Tom Knudsen and slai have been used in the scripts. Hope you enjoy it. see a couple of videos from the user Emer1976 and PS the scripts are free and free to redistribute or modify. If you do modify them for the better it would be nice to get that feedback.Click here to download this file
  8. Hey there, Alright, first off, I have searched and read a handful of posts about struggles and preferences people have had with different tools/plugins. I was hoping to kind of compile this all together in a single post for myself and the future reference of others. With that out of the way... I'm trying to accomplish weather that is as close to real life as possible. I have the latest SkyMaxx Pro and RealWeatherConnector. I also have tried the NOAA plugin, X-Plane's native weather, and some others. I'm wondering what kind of settings and combinations of plugins people have been using that yielded the most realistic results? There are a myriad of settings for all these different plugins, as well as for X-Plane itself, and it'd be nice to have some guidance. It's really nice to have the bottom layer of clouds I'm flying over when I'm at FL300+, but it's IMPERATIVE that I have accurate weather on approach and landing. For example, I was using NOAA + RWC the other day when landing at KORD and had to fight with a 20kt crosswind that wasn't actually there! (The METAR online stated I should be landing into a headwind - so this made things a bit interesting). Is there a way to ensure that below a certain elevation I get updates more frequently or any kind of certainty that they match the actual METAR reports for that airport? I know when I've used X-Plane's native weather, it's done something similar where it hasn't updated for a while, I'm getting around 3000 AGL and I can tell the weather isn't matching up with what I'm seeing in my METAR reports so I go tell it to "Update Now!" and get violent changes in the weather. If this has already been answered before or there are guides out there or something, please just point me to those as I would be apparently inept at searching.
  9. So after downloading and activating skymaxx pro v3 and after 1 flight where everything worked as it was supposed to, the clouds just got removed when running x plane the next day and i have not been able to see clouds after that. Log.txt
  10. Hi guys, since i updated to SMP v3 i noticed that there are no more shadows on the ground. I checked the clouds shadow box and still no shadows. Anyone of you had noticed that??? I'm running x-plane 10.41 and ge force gtx 770 2 gb. Thanks. Mau v3 v2.1
  11. Is it a X-plane limitation why clouds in general cannot look darker, almost impossible to see at nights when there is little to no lights source? The clouds are easily seen at nights which isn't very realistic in most cases.
  12. Don't know if anybody else has this, but in my case all ground objects (trees, buildings, ...) suddenly cast very weird shadows once they are within a cloud shadow area. It looks like the light source direction is affected by the current location, hence moving around causes the object shadows to change direction as well... The shadows return back to normal as soon they no longer fall within the cloud shadow area. I'm on Win7 and XP 10.30b8 64bit using an NVidia GPU. I have HDR enabled and global shadows set to "low" in the rendering settings The effect is perhaps best explained in a video so maybe I will try to upload one later today (as well as provide more comprehensive info regarding my settings and the NVidia driver version) as I'm currently without access.

  14. I am quite happy with skyMaxx except for one issue : Clouds in general and most of all fair weather clouds such as cumulus are blue. I know that there might be some light bluish tint sometimes due to oxygen. But here, the effect is much exaggerated. I tried different sky color options but got no significant result. I would like to lower the cloud colors saturation without changing the color of the sky itself. Is there a way?
  15. I have a serious problem with SkyMaxx Pro. When I'm at about 10000ft and above the cloud tops all lot of the time they will all look like white blobs / ice-cream / melted-marshmallows. Here's an example : Does anyone know what the problem is here? Thanks, jdb2
