  1. Using the C172 G1000 aircraft I am seeing unexpected behavior of the HSI when in Susp mode during a published hold. This is reproducible during published holds and course reversals. When entering the hold all is fine and the G1000 HSI properly goes into Susp mode but then the CDI starts acting like an RMI needle (pointing directly to the fix with the course deviation centered) instead of just staying on the set course and showing a course deviation. The Susp annunciator above the Susp soft key is highlighted but the only thing suspended about it is that it is not sequencing to the next fix. Why in the world would the CDI needle start acting like an RMI? This is not the way a real world G1000 operates at all. Is there a setting to adjust that will make the HSI continue to work normally as a suspended CDI and remain on the set course? The only work-around I can find is once entering the hold, set direct to the fix (instead of leaving the FMS navigating the HOLD fix), re-suspend the HSI and set the CDI to the course needed (as you would to manually hold at a fix). I guess my question is: is this a bug or is it designed to work that way? I am using version 11.53r1
  2. In the real Learjet 45 Pilot (P) and Copilot (CP) each have a PFD with an HSI display on their side. P and CP both have a display controler (DC) on each of their side. On these DCs the P and CP can choose (among other things) which is the active NAV SOURCE for THEIR respective HSI. They can choose between NAV1, NAV2 and FMS. I've found two datarefs available that can select the NAV SOURCE for an HSI on P side and on the CP side: Sim/cockpit2/radios/actuators/HSI_source_select_pilot Sim/cockpit2/radios/actuators/HSI_source_select_copilot 0=NAV1, 1=NAV2, 2=FMS Unfortunately the standard instrument "but_hsi_12GPS" only drives the "HSI_source_select_PILOT" dataref. Question 1: Is there an instrument to drive the "HSI_source_select_COPILOT" dataref? Or do I have to use a generic instrument? Question 2: Can you show two different HSI displays - one on P side (driven by HSI_source_select_pilot) and one on CP side (HSI_source_select_COPILOT)? I have only found the "el_hsi_circle_full" instrument and that is driven only by datarefs for the PILOT side. Actually there are a number of questions more -> there are a lot of _COPILOT datarefs by I can not find a way to drive those datarefs nor can I find a way to bind standard instruments to the COPILOT side. Thank you for your help! Discussion opened :-)
  3. Hello! I recently bought the beechcraft duchess and I'm wondering about the HSI. It seems to be wandering, or something else, since all my holdings/approaches, after a certain time does not add up. The GPS says my track is something which makes no sense. After restart the problem seems to restore itself. I read the POH and says the HSI should be a fixed card. Am I doing something wrong? Is HSI "fail safe" and should stay the same way throughout the flight, considering no settings have been changed? I attached a picture of the HSI, which indicates a heading of 199 degrees, however, the GPS indicates a track of 189 which is the correct bearing at my current position. The HSI indicated 189 before take-off and has rotated through 10 degrees during flight, now showing 199. Is there any way to solve this problem? Thanks in advance! Attaching a picture of the GPS and HSI so you can see how the numbers don't match
