  1. The radio stack is a feature of the GPS software (Plan-G by TASoftware) I'm using. It can connect to X-Plane through XPFSUIPC, open FMS files, so the flight plan in FMS is displayed on map. Your aircraft through XPFSUIPC can be tracked in real time and you can track yourself and other aircraft on VATSIM, however I find quite a delay (Up to 100 miles) in updating positions. You can enter values direct in the radio stack and, through XPFSUIPC, it updates in most aircraft. It was a very useful tool when I first started with X-Plane.
  2. I find it always interesting what others are doing and beneficial to get ideas from others when stuck with ideas. Seeing others' simpits is inspiring. So, in that spirit, I'll start with my own. 3. Always love RedPiper1's contributions to YouTube... I wish I had half the talent and nearly as strong of a PC when producing my own videos. His presentations are second to none!
  4. Duly noted... I am glad I overcame my fears of something new and bought X-Plane... It is my primary sim and I only use FSX when I want to experience something that is not yet offered (or that I know of) in the X-Plane community.
  5. Maybe so, but what harm is there in exploring that option? He was one vlogger amongst others of course, who pushed me in the direction of X-Plane. The actual influence that finally got me to take the plunge was one of Froogle's colleagues by writing an absolutely enthralling piece in PC-Pilot last year. I even started investing in add-ons, which I never did with FSX.
  6. All the more reason to work together towards a common goal. :-)
  7. His tag line is 'everything sim', not 'FSX sim'. He doesn't need to be on any forums. He has a successful Youtube channel and writes for PC Pilot. I think he makes a fine contribution to the community that way.
