  1. Thanks for reply. Love your product. As a suggestion/enhancement, it would be a nice to have feature if the application of cirrus clouds would be applied randomly, maybe based on certain weather conditions that make them more likely to be present. Keep up the great work.
  2. On the subject of Cirrus clouds, do/can they appear based on weather conditions or must we "force" them through the options in SkyMaxx.
  3. Hi, Here is my 2 cents after years of tweaking X-Plane. Please try the following and then if you get acceptable performance slowly increase the values until it negatively impacts your framerate and then lower it back. I have a big suspicion that your value are way to high and are saturating you bus bandwidth. I don't know of many PCs that can handle the high settings that you've pretty much put across the board. So try these as they all kill the bus at extreme values: Lower "Number of Cars" to Siberia Lower "Number of Objects" to Too Many Lower "World Detail Distance" to medium (afterwards, try high to see impact on framerate) In SkyMaxx I would Lower "Cloud Draw Distance" to at least half, then slow check your framerates after you apply higher values. On my system. I've noticed that depending on time of day, "Lens Flare" can really kill frame rate when you look in direction of sun. Give it a try.
  4. If you're running the demo it will ignore joystick input after 15 minutes
  5. From what I've experienced, I believe it feeds X-Plane winds based on your airplane altitude. For example when my plane was on ground, winds were 12 and when I changed the planes altitude to 10000, winds were 35. I haven't had a chance to check for shear winds and gust yet. It probably does it this way in order to provide a smoother transition in wind changes.
  6. WOW, the use of lighting for the stadiums, just jaw dropping! All the little details add so much to the overall night scenery. Amazing work guys.
  7. Looks amazing but it crashes my X-Plane with a Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library - Assertion Failed error on file C:\code\design\HLutils\v8scene\U...\PolyRa...Utils.h Doesn't look right to me that a scenery causes a Visual C++ error.
  8. I've been using the THD since X-Plane 9 with the ATI 4870, then the GTX 275 which only had dual display ports. I guess I just never changed the screen setup when I upgraded since it was already setup but I will try it out one day to bypass the Matrox Triple Head to see if it offers any improvements or loss of screen management features.
  9. 2GB is fine is you only use a single monitor. I have the 4GB using 3 monitors and I have to use compress textures so that the frame rate stays up in large citys. Mind you I always set texture resolution to extreme and I will not compromise on texture resolution. Out of urban areas I get between 30-50FPS on triple screens with shadow detail set to global low and water reflections to default. My system - Core i7-3930K, GTX680 4GB, 16GB RAM quad channel, Matrox Triple Head 5040x1050. At KSEA, if I run one monitor at 1680x1050 with the following settings I get average of 26FPS. At 5040x1050 I get 16FPS but I set flight models to 2 under Operations and warnings so it still flies under control. Try out these settings. Also, I found the following NVidia settings help alot This is what it looks like on a triple screen but I believe the GTX680 is fill rate limited at these resolutions. Guess I'll be looking at the Titan in the near future.
  10. Just tried RC2. Currently, I find that the real weather option gives the best clouds. Set the slider at 50% and got these great clouds. The strange clouds from high altitudes still exists though.
  11. In the Seattle demo area I've only seen them on tracks that follow the shorelines. Near the GRAYE NDB, north of the NOLLA NDB and between OG03 and OR23. In fact, I find that there are too many, one behind each other. I'm using Kansas setting and world render distance at high. Also, at Kansas setting, I find that traffic is heavy on the highways or freeways but the city streets are quite bare.
  12. Yep that's the river. I just checked and it seems that when the river narrows to a certain point it is not in v10 as nearing Concrete Municipal. http://www.openstree...oom=12&layers=M It's too bad as these rivers meander around the airports. I love to explore the countryside in X-Plane and following rivers and such is helpful as you can follow on a map. I've attached some screenshots between v9 and v10. You can see that the rivers add to the character of the scene. I had touble finding Fall City as the falls and river weren't there. Also I've noticed these areas as I've been working on airport scenery for them in my spare time. Concrete Municipal in v9 Concrete Municipal in v10 Fall City in v9 Fall City in v10 We can really see the improvement in the global textures in v10 Hopefully these rivers will find it into v10. Thanks
  13. Thanks for the info. I just checked on Openstreetmap.org and the river data in question for the Skagit river and Snoqualmie River were put in 2008 and 2009. I'm not trying to make an issue, just disappointed as I wonder how it will be elsewhere. Hopefully future releases will improve this. Thanks
  14. Amazing pics. As you are one of the Global Scenery developers, I have one question concerning the scenery provided with the demo. It appears that some of the rivers are missing compared to V9. Is this on purpose or will the released version be updated. Rivers are important reference points in VFR flying and add to the distinguishing character of the area. So far I've found the river that goes around Fall CIty 1WA6 and Concrete Municipal 3W5 are missing. I'm just hoping they will not be lost. Apart from that, amazing work. Thanks
  15. Any news on the development of this ACF? There are currently no great 3D quality Twin-Otters out there and I'm putting my hopes on this one. Is the project still alive? Thanks
