**UPDATE**
The team at Hot Start has been really helpful and I'm confident the problems I'm experiencing will get resolved. When it's working it's one of, if not, the best add-on aircraft for X-Plane 11.
*************
Dear Hot Start,
I purchased the TBM 900 and have suffered from two major problems with the product that if I was aware of would have stopped me from buying it.
Major problem 1 -
When using the TBM 900 software it negatively affects the operation of X-Plane 11;
- Frame rate deteriorates to unusable levels after a nondescript period of time. Configuring the TBM 900 in a cold and dark state returns the frame rate to a normal, usable level however prevents the user from operating your software for the intended use.
Major problem 2 -
When using the TBM 900 software X-Plane 11 suffers from software crashes;
- By a process of elimination the user can identify that X-Plane 11 suffers from software crashes on a regular basis only when the TBM 900 software is installed. The X-Plane 11 log file indicates an exception which describes the TBM 900 in the logs message. These crashes prevent the user from operating your software for the intended use.
The reason for the black and white approach to this post is an attempt to get a clear answer on what steps are being taken to resolve these major problems with the software from any Hot Start representative able to comment. From reading other forum posts I know I am not alone and I have waited more than a reasonable time since my purchase for these major problems to be resolved. I have also spent countless hours if my own time troubleshooting to isolate the issues in a test environment running a clean installation (no other third party modification present) of X-Plane 11.
Personally I find some frustration when purchasing what I expected to be a premium product only to find it unusable.
During the many attempted flights I have found the Hot Start TBM 900 to be an excellent representation of the real world aircraft. It's such a shame to have to write a post like this one for what I can clearly see is a product your team would have spent many thousands of hours developing and obviously are very passionate about. Please understand that if your product was priced at a less premium level I may have been more tolerant of the major problems I've encountered.
Kind regards,
James
