This is indeed a NG/MAX thing only.
There, having the "manual extension access door" open disables landing gear retraction logic, and allows manual landing gear extension with the gear lever in any position (contrary to the Classic).

This in turn makes for a much simpler (and a lot less fun ) "Landing Gear Lever Jammed in the UP Position" NNC on the NG...  On the Classic this NNC guides you through de-pressurizing Hyd. System A in order to extend the landing gear, whereas on the NG there's no need for this.

This was more information than I suspected to get.:D
    Brilliant! Thanks!

  2. Well, this might be an NG/MAX thing, but I have my doubts about that.

Here Mentour Pilot, a 737-NG pilot, talked about how he had exactly this problem.
    Watch from Minute 12:00 :)

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aTS4BEKqi4U

Also I watched a flightdeck video where this exact thing happened on an NG. Unfortunately I can´t find it anymore, despite my best efforts to hunt it down. They flipped the lever up, gear stayed down, they closed the flap properly and the gear came up.

  3. Hello there :)

I´ll keep it short this time.

You shouldn´t be able to raise the Gear if the emergency gear deploy flap behind the pedestal is not fully closed.

Tested it yesterday and left the flap open for takeoff. The gear came up!:lol:

I still have to try - but there is one thing to consider: If the thrust levers are advanced into forward thrust, they will disarm the autobrake. So even a little bit of thrust still set at touchdown will disarm them.

Now normally the reversers will not deploy while the thrust levers are not at idle - but I don´t know how X-Plane handles that. I could see a scenario where the pilot lands with the thrust levers not completely at idle, or maybe advancing them again before the plane registers that the reverse thrust is active (the dataref needs a second to switch).

The real plane will not allow the reverse levers to be pulled back before the reverse sleeves are in the fully deployed position, while X-Plane may allow that.

So a good test would be to touch down with idle thrust, keep the nose up, deploy reversers, keeping the nose up, then adding reverse thrust when the reversers are definitely deployed (it takes 2 seconds or so). You could actually start deploying the reversers when radar altitude is below 10 feet, but that is really bad piloting technique, so I don´t even want to encourage that ;-)

    Cheers, Jan

this was a good hint. I´ll do some further testing within the next days

  5. Hello!

Numerous people have brought up complaints about the autobrake not working sometimes for appearently no reason, myself included.
After tideous testing I found out:.

When the reversers are activated before the nosewheel is on the ground, the autobrake fails to work.
If you wait with reverser deployment until the nose gear is down on the ground, the autobrake works fine.
Oddly enough, I can hear the parking brake clicker when the autobrake activates. That´s how I immediatly hear if it works or not, even without looking at datarefs.

It´s all weird. I don´t see this behaviour on any other airccraft.

    Tested about 100 times.

    Hi

Landing light of the 737-300 is very low that I can not even see the runway properly. I  updated  the  aircraft but still same problem.

    Any solution.

Remeber that the 737-300 still has conventional light bulbs, not fancy xenon or LED stuff. They are quite dim.

Dont ask me why but I am in flight after taking off from EGFF and I am happy to report that all the Line select keys of the FMC are working, I have no idea why but it worked fine for the first time since the update.

Had the same problem. After a simple reload of the plane it worked again.

I think i flown this plane only one time without the winglets. Than sorry for confusing people :D

Caused much confusion after the initial release. You are late to the party.  :P:D

The Logolights also didn't work before 1.3. There was always a "inop" sticker below the switch.

    best regards.

They did, but only without the winglets. ;) That´s because the logo lights are part of the wingtip. They where not integrated in the winglets.

I would therefore like to share a list of things that will NOT be in version 1.0, and also give a little background of why, and wether we are planning to add it later. I will try to make this list as encompassing as possible, if I forget something, please don´t sue me! I will add/remove from this list as warranted.

It stil says 1.0 here. I´m sure it is supposed to say "1.3"

(Sorry I forgot to pause the youtube video before recording)

Found funny shadow shenanigans with the ground services menu popped out. I don´t know if it´s just the GS menu or the others as well. Didn´t test.
    Running 11.41 and Gizmo beta.

Also -minor cosmetics- the tiller is not centered in neutral position:

"Fixed turnoff lights lighting up the MCP"

    MCP leterring not lit anymore?

    Only v/s wheel lit.

    XP11.50 vulcan

Same here. I´m using 11.41 but the GIZMO beta. MCP misses backround lightning.
@Litjan Just out of interest; what does the MEL say about inoperative backround lightnings?

Have to chime in with saying sorry - I never caught this during my testing as I never use scrollwheel to work any manipulators, so it never registered on me for being "reversed".

Progress is often two steps forward, one step back. We will get it ;-)

    Cheers, Jan

Just a thought: Had you still the LH config for the overhead panel, then this mousewheel quirk would actually make some sense.

I have to congratulate you guys for this outstanding work, i was really surprised for the flight model.

In real life i fly 700s and 800s and always i found the 300 very close to the 700 on the flight characteristics, not the performance obviously.

The new flight model is very accurate, really is

For example after take off i needed to apply rudder trim to compensate and put that Yoke arrow centered again, was there when my mind blows.

i am really happy with this plane, i gonna test more this bird .

Just dont forget to udpate the FMC, i really need to know how much fuel i gonna have at my arrival hehehe.

    Cheers guys

What blew me away was, now Check, hold, close acutally results in a precise, firm landing. Not in a floaty float anymore. (experimental flight model)

I have just tried on my installation but have been unable to reproduce your problem. Are you running any other "third party" camera plugin, like X-Camera or such?

Alt-tabbing in and out did not change any of my views at all. But just maybe this is a side-effect of some code-change that Tom did (for the replay mode). Lets see if this still happens for you after 1.3

    Cheers, Jan

 I´m experiencing the same bug. He´s not alone. Could be a headshake thing now that I think about it. I´ll try it without in a while.
