  1. Hurrah! VNAV's finally starting to begin to obey me. 8-) And I thought it was just me, probably just half me.... and the wine.... Anyway it's doing better!
  2. Hi all, I was enjoying a nice medium haul flight from LGAV to EGLL and had myself very nicely lined up for 27L with 10 NM to go when suddenly my aircraft went dark and as a result I fell out of the sky. Could some kind soul tell an idiot how to switch from the empty wing fuel tanks to the centre one, which still had plenty of fuel - I know it's in the manual but I'm not good at the engineering side of airliners yet and I'd appreciate a pointer. To summarise - Doh!
  3. Ok thanks Cameron, I'm fairly new to X-Plane so I mis-read the crash. I'll send it to Laminar. Thanks for your help, case closed as far as you are concerned. 8-)
  4. Firstly I'm not sure if this forum is the official support for Skymaxx, hopefully it is. Flying LGAV to EGLL with the IXEG 737, everything fine until near the Albanian border then a crash to desktop. I'd just applied your version 3.2.2 today. If I understand the log correctly it seems it was Skymaxx Pro that was responsible. Mac OS X 10.11.6. Thanks, Brian Log.txt METAR.rwx
  5. Thank you both for your help. mmerelles nailed it. I feel a bit silly but I did learn a bit more about how the aircraft works. 8-) And I've just realised you were the person who helped me with the flaps issue as well. Thank you, what an excellent community we have here.
  6. I think mmerelles has got the answer. I was concentrating on programming the FMC so I had left my Madcatz joystick folded up at the back of my desk. Looking at it after seeing your comment I noticed that the throttles were forward. I didn't have time to test it this morning but I'll give it a try and confirm this evening.
  7. I've been practicing my FMC work flying backwards and forwards between my home airport of ELLX to EHRD. At the moment I always start "Ready to Fly" which has been fine before but I have been getting an audible alert alarm immediately after selecting my airport and the IXEG737. Clicking the master caution does me no good and the only lights I see that look unfamiliar are the "Ram door full open" blue lights on the overhead fwd right panel. I fiddled a bit with the Pack controls but I don't really understand them yet and it did no good anyway. I uninstalled the aircraft and re-installed it but I still get the same despite quite a few hours without this problem over the time I've owned the aircraft, it just seems to have come from nowhere. Thanks for any assistance.
  8. Thank you all for your helpful advice, especially Jan. It tickles me that a pro 737 pilot likes chucking it around the sky in VFR. I'm gradually understanding more about this fantastic aircraft. There's a lot of fun and study here. Groetjes.
  9. Yes! It's an 8 usually, I tend not to notice this since I'm an old mainframe computer bloke and zeros and 8's tend to look very similar. Although I'm usually scrupulous about flaps, for my current flight that's exactly what I was doing wrong and it cleared the warning. Other ones though it's definitely not the case and I'll look into it after your advice. Thanks a lot for your help, much appreciated.
  10. Although it's nice to be called a Captain, I'm afraid it's going to be a while until I qualify for first officer. 8-) I have been flying around in the lovely 737 classic almost as a VFR aircraft. It flys beautiful like that by the way. But that's not what it's supposed to do and I'm starting to go further with the auto pilot, without FMC at the moment. (I'm getting crashes but that is another issue to be dealt with separately). I'm noticing that in good weather at, for example a stable FL 200 with airspeed of 200 in level flight if I change the airspeed to 220 I get a flashing 0 indicator next to the indicated speed and the airspeed seems limited to somewhat less than I require. If I take manual control I have quite a bit of power left and can build the speed, switch back to auto throttle and I get the same behaviour within a few minutes. I'm feel sure I'm missing something or other. Thanks for any assistance and advice.
