  1. Hello, I feel I have noticed that if I start up the aircraft in the "turn around" state, it has FPS drops from 45+ down to 29 fps, then back up again. This will happen pretty much throughout the flight even after everything is running. However, if I do a cold and dark start option, or even a ready to fly option, the amount of drop off is much less throughout the flight.
  2. I was entering the winds in the PERF page that were 360 @ 36. I tried typing 360/36, but it resulted in an INVALID ENTRY in the scratch pad. However, entering 000/36 worked. Is this intended?
  3. Hi guys, I was going to make a post suggesting seemingly significant lighting difference off the same CO Panel Brightness rheostat. For instance, when I tone down the analog flight instrument dial lights, the fuel indicator lights and digits on the MCP drop off significantly. However, is what's being discussed above the same issue? Or am I messing something up?
  4. Thanks again guys, you're correct as it seems to be a Laminar issue. I ran the same test in a few other aircraft, similar results. Feel free to delete this msg, or, save it so others making my mistaken assumption might see this before posting.
  5. OK, thanks. I'll file with Laminar as well.
  6. It's not Laminar, because when you zoom in and out on terrain, the trees draw in with the zooming in.
  7. Hello, I made this narrated video demo watchable at this dropbox link to show the change in level of detail exterior views I'm seeing from the X-Plane 11 version IXEG v1.33 vs the XP 12 v1.5.0 / 1.5.1. Hopefully this can be adjusted for us that like to watch extended replay angles and distances for review, entertainment, and content creation. EDIT: I am not running any LOD plug-ins.
  8. See attached to what I assume you're speaking of. I also tried opening the setting file, changing the IXEG_user_prefs.txt file's line number 37 from "eye_brows = 0" to "eye_brows = 1", and hitting SAVE. However relaunching sim starts off with eye brows plugged, file shows "eye_brows = 0". Other preferences do stay saved. For instance, switching between steam gauges and EFIS sizes do stay reconfigured with subsequent relaunches. I also double checked to ensure that X-Plane 12 folder has been excluded from threat protections.
  9. Hi, I have been selecting the choice I have the eyebrow windows and then hit save. However, when I relaunch the sim, the eyebrow windows are plugged. I then bring up the Preferences and see that the box to have eyebrow windows is in fact checked, and the eyebrow windows get unplugged. It seems as though the saved preferences are not loading at start up and require the window be relaunched.
  10. Where do we get the CG% and trim setting for takeoff? That old menu did the job for us.
  11. I bout the 733 in the early days. Can someone tell me how to see the $14.99 option? I put it in the cart but it says $84. I haven't seen any obvious step I need to take to get the upgrade price. Thanks!
  12. I do remember one of the last updates did introduce some higher resolution components in the cockpit. The most notable was the side window and handle to open and close the window. However it was only done on the left side, so maybe consider balancing out the resolution on the right side as well? Aside from that, I've always admired the modeling of the IXEG cockpit, even though it came out under the X-Plane 10 standards, it still looks fantastic today.
  13. Picky is what made it excellent. Looking forward to the updates.
  14. Thank you Tom for the update. Not sure if it's been mentioned, but will the update that includes VNAV/FMS increased capability be XP11 compatible as well? I assume at one point you'll be fully dedicated to XP12, but I'm still saving up for a 4080 card!
  15. Ok, I just wanted to make sure it was safe so I didn't lock my plane out of my own machine. Thanks!
  16. Does windows update ever mess with the machine ID to the point where it does not recognize a particular computer even though it has been used successfully for numerous flights? I've been running my 733 on my current machine repeatedly with no issues. Today I went to lunch the sim I got a gizmo error saying there was a machine ID error, then it started to lead me through prompts to give this computer a unique name and then Deauthorize one of my previous choices. One of those choices was my current computer's ID I created when I bought it. I have not done any hardware changes, only the windows updates and driver updates that pop up now and then. I guess I could deauthorize this machine's previous ID since gizmo seems to be seeing it as a different machine, but it's a bit confusing.
  17. Tom, as exciting as it is for us simulator enthusiasts and fans of this particular aircraft to hear of the positive change in the circumstances of your life that allow you to continue to accelerate progress with this project, I am also happy to hear for you that you are at such a point that will work out for you personally. Also, from my own selfish simfan standpoint, I'm glad to hear the project pulling you from the 733 was related to Laminar and XP 12!!! I suspect with an ability to further fully focus on the 733, the resulting quality, consistency, and frequency of enhancements will continue to grab more fans with confidence to plunk down the cash in a product they clearly see is actively improved, thus furthering your ability to keep the progress comin'. Thanks for the update.
  18. @tkyler & @Litjan I hope you and your families are well. I was curious if you would be willing to share the latest news on the IXEG? Or anticipation of what we should look forward to? Thanks!
  19. BTW, I hope it was OK to piggyback on this thread, I now realize it may have been describing a different issue from @HaziDesignsdescription. Either way I hope my report helps, let me know if I should copy paste it into a separate topic. Thank you!
  20. Hi Jan, I have been having this [relatively new] oscillation issue specifically when using the VNAV and often in LNAV based on the current IXEG v1.33, and maybe since v1.30 onward? Switching to HDG, LVL CHG, and VSI modes tends to smooth everything out. I know this wasn't an issue in prior versions. I am providing two video clip examples here. I actually planned to report it sooner, but quite often I have been doing my own interventions since I do a lot of online flying with PE/Vatsim ATC, and they often ask me to use other altitudes in the STAR. Since the VNAV T/D has stopped being able to re-calculate since V1.32 (?), I haven't been able to rely on the T/D. Anyway, today I did happen to let the VNAV do it's thing, and here are two clips that shows what I've been experiencing. The winds were not gusting, nor was there significant turbulence. Perhaps the OP is speaking about this? In this first clip you'll see the pitch command bar, the VSI, and the green vertical predictor on the ND all moving in response to the airframe pitching up & down: https://www.twitch.tv/torbinator97/clip/UnsightlyAdorableCardChefFrank Here it is in LNAV. It's a bit subtle in this example sine it was a relative short heading change, but you'll see the roll oscillates about 3°, the roll command also shows left/right movement, and the airplane/horizon movement. If the turn was longer, it would have continued throughout most of the turn. https://www.twitch.tv/torbinator97/clip/PlausibleTrappedDonutKappa Hope these help!
  21. Hi Guys, I just wanted to share a recent example that was explained above, since it happens relatively frequently. I chose this example since there were several fixes involved. Let me know if the issue was user error, and if I should keep posting these if they will help with future VNAV improvements. v1.33 Navigraph AIRAC 2013 Route: KDCA - Depart RWY 19 - DOCTR4 AGARD J42 LAURN J222 JFK ROBUC3 - ILS RWY 4 from GOSHI - KBOS Attached CDU images labeled based on page order
  22. Hi guys, This message is an observation that I've experienced many times, and I have also watched Jan deal with it in some of his videos. As we know, dragging the frequency knobs in a direction toward a frequency we need sometimes results in us overshooting the required frequency, which requires us to reverse our mouse direction to correct the freq. However, sometimes reversing the physical mouse direction does not reverse the actual frequency direction. This requires us to let go, reposition the cursor over the knob, re-grab and make final adjustments, which can be time consuming during SIDs/STARs/IAPs while participating with online ATC live events. However, there are a particular set of knobs within the IXEG that seem to ALWAYS work correctly: the ILS/VOR freq knobs. These particular knobs seem to allow the frequency to be adjusted back-and-forth continuously and work perfectly without having to let go and re-grab! I wanted to share that in hopes that in a future update you might be able to examine the code used in those knobs to see if it is possible to bring that reliable functionality to all other knobs used to adjust frequencies as well as the parameters on the MCP. Thanks!
  23. Thanks Ben! Will try this till the FMOD implementation.
  24. Thanks guys. I'm curious if you could clarify something that I think I remember reading. If I understood correctly from a previous post, there is a plan to improve the vnav functionality in an upcoming update, and then further in a complete rewrite? Also, was hoping you might be able to clarify the following based on the above... I feel as though as recent as version 1.30 through 1.32 I was able to reprogram the altitude over a fix on a STAR from what was on the chart to what ATC (PilotEdge/Vatsim) asked for, and see the depicted T/D did shift accordingly. Sometimes the aircraft followed the reprogrammed VNAV (about 50% of the time estimated), other times not. Yet with the v1.33, the reprogramming amended restrictions never relocates the T/D and the aircraft VNAV only follows the path as originally calculated. Can you share if this functionality will be restored with the VNAV update or VNAV complete rewrite? Assuming my interpretation that there are two separate phases on this is correct. Thanks @tkylerand @Litjan !
