    Incorrect, especially with the new spill lights. If they are not XP10 optimized then only a given number will work, and often times not as many as the aircraft may actually have. This is precisely why the pretty night lights in XP10 as a whole don't work unless HDR is enabled. There is a spill cone effect Dan creates, but this is not what we're talking about anyhow. It should definitely work with HDR (haven't had time to try), but I'd say something is definitely amiss if it's not.

    Well, I take back some of my comments here. It's not entirely what was expected. OpenGL is not present, though it's definitely driven by SASL. It's primarily a work of images drawn similar to generic instruments in X-Plane. I can't comment on full functionality (primary commentary comes from a known programmer), but after I have enough time to do so I'll report back.

    Okay, so what you're saying is really nothing more than a generic instrument with custom vector graphics. That's just a pretty GUI for what X-Plane already provides by default. Anyone can do that without a plugin already (that's one cool thing about X-Plane). That said, I'm hoping there's more to this than just a pretty costume on a generic instrument.

    From a technical standpoint this somewhat contradicts. Are you suggesting that this is custom coded OpenGL, or are you suggesting that this is a default X-Plane functionality prettied up with graphical changes (which is possible)? That would just be custom art assets making the default EFIS appear more like an Aspen setup. Hoping Steven will get the clarification on that, and weather this apparent OpenGL is done with SASL or another plug-in, as well as how much of the systems actual functionality is plugin driven.

    Thanks to all for your compliments! Haha, it's one of those moments where you start to appreciate what's there when it's not. Definitely bundles of excitement through and through! Most welcome! We gave out progressive notices through other media as we could. There was definitely some heart sinking going on, even with the knowledge of the snapshot backup. It's one of those moments where you know you've been as safe as you can, but don't know the final outcome until things are in place. Sleep never felt so good. I agree, Keith, it is ironic. RAID setups are supposed to be a signal of security, but when they burn, they burn bad. Definitely thankful for the offsite backups as well. Cheers, all!

    I am skeptical on this information about the moving map and how it's drawn. Yes, I agree the plug-in would be used for the 2D portion of it. That said, the look of some of that map and how it's drawn looks strikingly familiar to X-Plane (and not because X-Plane is crazy accurate, either). Steven, can you confirm if it's created with SASL or a custom plug-in (C/C++) outside of that? I'm considering purchasing this myself. If it IS an Aspen simulated to the real one then this is a great step and something I'd happily recommend against our already existing catalog should someone ask about whether we have certain products that fit their needs. It would not be the first time I have happily recommended Carenado/Dan's efforts.

    Okay, so do you know the answer? Is this OpenGL custom code or is it default X-Plane data imposed as an Aspen? Based on the way the map is laid out it looks like X-Plane's default.

    Hi, Folks, As I'm sure many of you have noticed we were offline for almost two days. I certainly apologize for the downtime and inconvenience involved with this. The short of this is our server has a RAID-10 setup (four hard drives, two of which are for mirroring/backup). In a rare event, not only did a production hard drive fail, but a backup drive failed at the same time. The RAID controller was also shot, which we believe to be the primary cause in this. As a result, our "live" backup of the websites were lost entirely. That said, we do snapshot backups of our server data every evening and place these backups on an entirely different server. Because of this, we have lost about only hours worth of posts on X-Pilot (very minimal), but that's about it since the snapshot last backed up was less than 24 hours prior to the server crash. In the grand scheme of things this is very minimal after what happened, and most of you won't notice anything missing at all....just a few posts from the day of February 23rd. Because of the nature of the failure and having to transfer the backup from our offline backup server to our new server, this process took quite a while to come back to life. I want to personally thank all of your for your patience as we have worked tirelessly to restore services. Blue Skies! -Cameron

    IT IS in the manual... On another note: This section of the forum is for customers who purchased the Jetstream from X-Aviation. This does not apply to customers who purchased from X-Aviation. Our version does not utilize the SASL plugin.
