As we all know, the TBM-900 by Hot Start is hands down the most detailed aircraft for X-Plane (and maybe all of flight sim). But, nothing, not even the TBM, is perfect. That's why I've made this mod. BetterTBM aims to improve the cockpit textures in general and also fix some minor issues, many of them caused by issues within X-Plane. What was changed? - Many edits to the normal maps (most of these edits prevent sunlight from peaking through the panel where it shouldn't - an X-Plane issue) - Many changes to thee ambient occlusion (ambient light shadowing) - Very slight changes to the panel color to match X-Plane's lighting Installation Step 1: Place the "objects" folder in your root TBM-900 folder. ("X-Plane 11/Aircraft/X-Aviation/TBM-900") Step 2: Merge and replace files when needed. Step 3: Enjoy BetterTBM! Hot Start's TBM-900 can be purchased here. I highly recommend it.

  2. This is probably the only plane I can fly in XP11 thanks to not only the systems realism but the fact it imitates the sounds and camera shaking so perfectly, not even PMDG or FSL could do this so you guys should be proud. When I got the plane for the first time after purchase I was disappointed that I bought more of a unfinished beta rather than a complete product: the exterior doors didn't open (which for me in the first time in 10 years of simming is the first for a payware), and the FMS was missing so much stuff that I could compare it to the vanilla FMS from XP11. But what truly grunts me is that VNAV is not only not implemented (for descent) but that it's so buggy that every time I use it for descent it crashes my sim (XP 11.30). I really want to enjoy this plane; this is in fact one of 2 planes that I fly in XP11 this and the 737 Ultimate. But even the ultimate despite being freeware has a working VNAV system. Yes the FMS is not complete like that of other payware such as PMDG but that usually takes much time. The last update was more than a year ago and not a single thing no matter how minuscule has been added to this bird. Honestly IXEG you guys should've kept this plane back a few more years and release it with ALL the features it's supposed to have. I honestly wouldn't mind waiting another few more years to have a complete simulation rather than an unfinished beta., not trying to come across as rude but I want to get my opinion out because I CARE and WANT this to be the greatest addon for not only XP11 but flight sim itself. You guys had a great idea but poorly executed it's schedule, this entire situation with the incomplete FMS reminds me of the 737 MAX grounding, it just wasn't ready yet. Now yes I also do want a complete FMS in fact along with VNAV I want a complete FMS, because when the FMS is complete then the ENTIRE plane will be fully functional as it should be, I honestly don't care for the doors, it's all eye candy and 95% of the time is spent in the air anyways. I hope Jan you and your team will take a look at this and give it some thought, I am aware you guys are planning an update but it's been a while and this plane needs a full FMC. If the update could come out this summer than great! I would start spending more time in XP11 rather than P4D even though the latter has more functionality. Please IXEG.... you have the potential to become the PMDG of X-Plane, use it!

  5. I had this fix, but then when I downloaded the new version, I lost it, and I can't remember where I got it. Love this aircraft guys, the taildragger is currently my favorite in X-Plane, thank you! Moe

  6. Unfortunately that did not helped either. But thanks for the suggestion! I know it is a minor bug, but it really destroys the immersion

Delta_Who Liveries | HotStart TBM900 - Pure metal v1.0 | N422AZ To Install -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 1. Simply place the folder "Delta Liveries - Pure Metal v1.0" into the liveries folder of your Flightfactor A320 Liveries folder 2. That's it...easy right? NOTES : I'd say for the first time ever for one of my liveries, PLEASE READ THIS! :Delta - A disclaimer on registration fonts. This livery comes pre-installed with a registration... which uses a different font than provided for accuracy. The reason why I cannot insert the exact font is due to licensing issues. I cannot distribute a commercial font. The version of Galactic Vanguardian provided... is the non-commercial variant and is appropiate for distribution. Please keep this in mind if you decide to apply your own livery. - This livery is based on a TBM 850 livery... and is technically fictional. You've been warned. The registration is already pre-made, but you can use the existing registration editor to tailor the livery to your liking! Version Notes --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- + Special thanks to Cessnarox for the paintkit, and my congratulations to Totoritko and Goran for an amazing aircraft + This is a highly extensive and customised livery. + All chrome PBR application + Custom heat discolouration + Normals remade to make leading edges (de-ice boots) more glossy + Custom tinted windows + Custom dirt + Custom window trim Creative rights go to Delta_Who. 9. We're working on it. Still a few things to take care of. All moveable parts in the cockpit have been re-animated with new datarefs. Some code still needs to be fixed. Have to run a few tests and check lighting. We're getting there.

  10. There is one more important thing to know about "crossfeeding": If you open the crossfeed but have BOTH sides pumps on, fuel will not get evenly burned from both tanks. You would think so - and inititally this was also how the big, official "Level D" simulators that we used for training had it. But they found out in the real aircraft that - since pressures are never EXACTLY the same, the "stronger" side will COMPLETELY "take over". So you yould see that fuel only gets used from one tank, even if all pumps are on and the crossfeed is open. So just like mmerelles said: If you have an imbalance, open crossfeed, turn off the pumps in the tank with less fuel. We used to say "less fuel, less pressure" to memorize this. THEN you need to set a reminder (I used to clip the tip of my tie to the card-holder clip on the yoke! ) because its easy to get distracted and then you suddently have reversed your imbalance. We used to call this "fuel yo-yo" . Cheers, Jan

  11. There is a miss conception i presume. Cross feed valve is not meant to pass fuel one tank to the other but to selectively burn fuel from one side tank to feed the other side engine fuel lines if required. I you want to balance the tanks, you open the cross feed valve as you did and you turn OFF the AC fuel pumps for the left side tank in your case (experiencing lower qty), so the right side tank ac pumps will pressurize/feed left & right engine via the cross feed. Once enough fuel from the right tank is burnt and both balanced, you turn back to ON left tank AC fuel pumps, close cross feed, to resume normal operation Hope this clarifies.

  14. It's sad when a freeware model bears out a $60 payware equivalent in visual accuracy, in my mind.

  16. Yep. Posts like this don't cause production to increase any faster. But, if you felt like you needed somewhere to just blog your thoughts....by all means.
