  1. When the IRS "averaging" goes wrong, you can end up massively off course. Like this Adam Air 737-300 which got lost for 2 hours, and made an emergency landing on the wrong island 250nm away. The pilots didn't even know where they had landed until they got off the plane. Here's the official report, It's a fantastic read: http://knkt.dephub.go.id/knkt/ntsc_aviation/baru/Final_Report_PK-KKE_Release.pdf

  2. Throw in end user light conditions with regards to monitors, gamma, room lighting, natural lighting, glare, etc, and all bets are well and truly off. The dynamic range of the average monitor is like looking at the world through a drinking straw.

  3. XEnviro crashes when their weather server is down (maybe they fix that in 1.07, but 1.06 definitely does it). And it was down quite often last few days, some problems with power grid in the city it's located in.

  4. I am getting these crashes as well, but wouldn't put it on version 1.2. I removed XEnviro and I am able to complete all my flights. I am almost sure that XEnviro is the reason. Looks like whenever xE is updating weather AND is not able to reach their server at this time, a crash is probable. Let's hope, this is fixed in xEs next version, whenever it will arrive. Until then, I'll use XPs default weather, which is not to bad as well. Gesendet von meinem SM-G925F mit Tapatalk

  5. Hi Tom, no, I don't even use XEnviro. The only two other plugins active at this time where the landing speed rating thing (don't know the exact name) and XACARS. Like I said, the problems did not occur before IXEG 1.2. On the other hand, I was doing an very short flight from EDDL to EDDK at friday and there everything went well. I was not running XACARS there. Greetings, Chris

  6. You are right about the cost. I work in avionics maintenance in a corporate flight department. A single Honeywell Laseref IV IRS costs over $500,000 new[emoji33]
