Oh I get it, programming the Mayan Calender into the B77W systems, is that is why it is taking so long.....

Seems it's not a bad idea to write some words...

The most important thing: the Project isn't dead (and will not die). Development on all! parts (Flightmodel, 3D-Model, plugin etc.) continues day by day. However, XPJets didn't (and will never do) announce any possible release dates until we're sure that our work meet our requirements (and the expectations of the users).

I can understand you that you're asking for updates, like to see screenshots etc. (hey, i was a MSFS-user for a long time before i started development by myself). But the biggest part of development time isn't visible! For me it doesn't make sense to show a screenshot of the EICAS or other things. If you like to see instruments of the 777 go to airliners.net (they have a category named "flight deck"). Even if you would see screenshots you couldn't enjoy to see them working. If we think we'va something to show you'll be the first who will see it.

And if you ask what kind of problems we need to deal with there's only one answer: time. All of us have regular jobs (or similiar). Of course we'd like to invest more time into this project but there's a life beside X-Plane...

Anyway i'd like to give you some information about the plugin. At the moment i'm about to finish the AFDS. We have a custom FlightDirector and Autopilot, also we've a custom Autothrottle. The main systems (Electric, Hydraulic etc.) are done. Most of the future development time will go into the Flight Management Systerm. And also into porting the stuff to other OS (i use Linux as development platform). The MacOs port will not be that difficult but the Win32 thing will cost some more time...

The goal is to release a solid simulation of "what's happening on a 777 flight deck?". And we focus on quality, not quantity ;-)

Just my 2 cents
Sven

Hmm, i've searched the Manuals for "Mayan Calendar" but didn't find something so i guess the 777 don't have it. But if you find something you can make a bug-report :-P

Thanks for the update Sven. Even small posts like that are very good for keeping the angry mob away.

One last question... when will it be released?

Just kidding!! :P

Hello, I trying to make a 777 Freighter ( for my personal usage) "based on the 777ER maybe the XPFW 777LR is more close to the 777 Freighter" but I working with the Xpjets 777 with GE engines. so I have to change Engines Specs and Planes Weight and fuel.

I will use the GE90-110B, can you please tell me what the SFC for this Engine.... ? I want to make the Engine Fuel usage as close as the Boeing Public Data. So i can make the Max Range with MTOW based on this table... see image..

Thanks

Carlos

Just saw the latest photos of the 777. They look spectacular! That 3d cockpit looks like it will be the best in XP!

I've just started work earlier this year on a project of my own. I have the luxury of being able to dedicate my full time to the development of this aircraft unlike the guys that are making this one. I'll tell you now the sheer complexity of systems can bog you down and eat up time so fast its unbelievable. The developers of real life aircraft find deadlines are impossible to keep to it -looks like Sims are just the same. Great things need time to complete.

There will always be the naysayers that tell you it ca'nt be done - they'll have to eat their words when they fly it for the first time!

Alll the best.

Can't wait for this bird! It's going to be epic! :) Out of curiosity, is this simulation of the triple 7 going to include the checklists that pop up on the display screens? For example at 1:32 on this video: http://tinyurl.com/bp6vhkc you can see one of the pilots tinkering through a list on the lowest of the center displays.
