daemotron
Hi all, I'm encountering a very strange behaviour of X-Plane: It locks itself always to 30 FPS, no matter what rendering settings I apply. Also disabling all plugins does not have any impact. My computer spec: Intel Core i7-6700K (water cooled) 32 GB DDR4-RAM (4x Kingston DIMM 8 GB PC4-17000 Non-ECC) NVIDIA GeForce GTX Titan X I'm running Windows 10 (Pro, 64 bit) and X-Plane 10.45r2 at a resolution of 2560x1440 I also played around a bit with the NVIDIA driver; my settings for x-plane.exe are: Triple buffering: on Power Management Mode: prefer maximum performance Multi-Display: singe display performance Texture filtering - negative LOD bias: Clamp Threaded optimization: Off Vertical sync: Adaptive (half refresh rate) It's like somebody nailed the frame time to 0.033, no matter what I do - cf. screenshots where I applied heavy settings, but the framerate looks exactly the same with minimum rendering settings: Does anybody have an idea what could cause this? It's really annoying (30 FPS is still usable, but there's not much margin when clouds are being redrawn etc.) P. S. GPU temperature is not an issue, it stays below 70°C (I applied a little more agressive fan curve) ... Edited April 9 by daemotron
xm10922
Do you sport a 60hz Screen? In your Nvidia Settings it says: Vertical sync: Adaptive (half refresh rate) That would explain why you're locked to 30fps!
daemotron
Thanks, that was it. Back at ~60fps

mgeiss
I would compare both settings for some time. More fps doesn't necessarily mean a smoother sim. I am back to 1/2 refresh rate, as it gives the smoothest experience on my system. YMMV.
xm10922
Certainly worth testing! I think I'll give it a try tonight Edited April 28, 2016 by xm10922
