I would like to ask a  quick question and I am sorry if I missed looking for an answer.

Is there any quick way to temporarily disable aural voice warnings?

There are situations when for example sink rate is set below the value for aural warning initiation.

Thank you for a great aircraft, cheers, AJ ;)

Hi Jim,

Thank you for an instant reply. As far as your question, The_Sukhoi_Superjet_Fan just answered it above. Of course it is just one example, I am sure there are many more.

I am wondering if in the real aircraft there is away to disable it.

Thank you again Jim.  Cheers, AJ ;)

All I can think of is when your in a situation like the ILS @ LUG...you are on ILS but the airplane is screaming sink rate at you, its very bothersome.

I am wondering if in the real aircraft there is away to disable it.

The "envelope" parameters to trigger a Mode 1 (Excessive sink rate) GPWS warning are as follows:

The envelope "border" is a linear line…

FROM:        0 feet (radio altitude) at  900 fpm descent rate
TO  :  2500 feet (radio altitude) at 5200 fpm descent rate.

I have checked the system code for GPWS Mode 1 and it looks correct to me.  If you feel that you are "outside" of these envelope parameters and still getting a warning, please let me know.

As far as I know there is no way to disable the warning in the real aircraft, but I will check with our real world Saab pilots.
