Hi,

I'm looking to purchase the Corvalis to be able to practise IFR on a glass cockpit MFD. I've looked at the Faqs and this forum, but couldn't find answers to he following:

Does the G1000 have full VOR/DME functionality?

Can I track VORs and NDBs with the G1000?

Thanks for you help.

Yes, the G1000 has full VOR/DME functionality.  You can track VOR's by tuning the radio frequencies or entering the VOR ID in a flight plan.  There is no ADF radio (as per the Garmin version of the G1000 that was modeled in this aircraft) so you cannot track an NDB frequency. However, you can enter an NDB ID in a flight plan.

Out of interest, does the Corvalis have an analogue RMI that can be used to track an ADF beacon?

No, as that would require an ADF radio tuner and, as stated above, the G1000 version in this Corvalis does not have an ADF radio.  There are two "bearing" needles available for use with the NAV radios (VOR).
