I tried it today, using XP10.21 and the 4K DDSWhat I noticed is that there is no visual difference when I look at the moon from my cockpit. The difference is noticed greatly when I zoom my view on the moon, then I see the enormous details of the texture. I guess that's how X-Plane works, Please find attached screenshots. PierreLvx Posted May 10, 2013 Author Report Share Posted May 10, 2013 Hi Ayarov, You're absolutely right, the enhancement only shows with very high zooms.The idea behind this was to enable the guys out there making videos to use a highly detailed moon if they wanted to. I strongly felt it was a shame the moon wasn't at least a tad better ; I bet the texture Laminar uses hasn't been updated since XP version 8. I also asked Laminar for normal maps support, but they weren't so enthusiastic, even though they would make a big difference in close up shots.
