Not yet 64 bits version here.

Be patient.

This e-mail is being sent to you because you are a purchaser of the Take Command! CRJ-200.

In case you are unaware, the 64-bit version of X-Plane (10.2+) was released as a beta very recently. While this is good news and a giant leap forward, all plug-ins that have ever been created for X-Plane were rendered inoperable until updates were made to compile the plug-ins as 64-bit compliant.

Some stores have begun sending out copies of the 64-bit version of the CRJ-200, however, we have not. While we have every intention of sending all users a free copy of the CRJ-200 in 64-bit format, we feel it's also necessary to give our customers a smooth upgrade process. Right now, those distributing 64-bit versions of the CRJ have a new install process. Users in 32-bit are being left behind with an earlier version of the CRJ-200, while 64-bit users are getting an entirely different version. This also means we will need to re-write our installers to be smart enough to know what to do during the install process and not give customers headaches!

The biggest issue right now is that we have seen many issues internally on testing with 64-bit, and we do not wish to push these issues on to you as our customer at this time. As the CRJ-200's largest distributor we must be careful in what we deploy and how we do it so that the transition is easy on everyone, both on our side and your own!

Also: We have heard some reports of users using version 1.5.2 of the CRJ-200 and having crash issues. If this applies to you, please contact us immediately so that we may help you resolve this problem! We will happily get you to a stable point, and quickly!

The last issue we would like to address pertains to compatibility. As it stands now, the 64-bit version of the CRJ-200 is not working in OS X 10.6.x for Mac users. We will have a final announcement on whether this will remain the situation once we ship. We are doing everything in our power to get as many people included in this transition as possible, as we understand a good number of you are still on this version of the Mac operating system!

Our number one priority is our customers. We want all of you to have a great experience, as we understand that X-Plane is most everyone's hobby and a way to "get away." Interfering with your valuable time while bugs potentially still exist and having the upgrade process to 64-bit becoming complex on the customer's end is not something we wish to impose on you, nor do we wish to cut into your valuable time. As soon as we get all issues squared away and in a seamless way we will immediately contact you again for your upgrade!

So, to re-cap:

1. New installer code will need to be created to make the experience to upgrade to the next version of the CRJ-200 easier on our customers. We are already working on this.

2. We are waiting to resolve a few more 64-bit bugs before handing the CRJ-200 off to you.

We appreciate your time in reading this e-mail, and wish you many happy flights!

I am wondering if anybody can shed a bit of light on the situation I am having. I run the CRJ in 64bit and the majority of the switches do not work i.e. Battery apu etc.

Running the 32bit there is no problem. Regards Steve.
