netwalker
During long flights it could be quite boring watching the monotonous landscape through the winshield for hours. Would it be possible in future versions to provide a way to shorten the flight between waypoints? I'm thinking of jumps between waypoints or e.g. "forward jumps" of 100 miles? There are other planes which offer this possibility.
Goran_M
Nothing like this is planned. I'm not really aware of other add ons that offer this, though. You could always just open the map, and drag the aircraft on the map to the point where you want to go.
verbli
In case you did not know, X-plane offers two types of "time" compression. I think it is Ctrl-T and Alt-T. Ctrl-T increases computing speed and your computer need to be able to run the whole X-plane simulation at a faster rate. Alt-T increases "ground speed" up to 16 times. Both keys cycles through four "levels" of increase. Some planes does not work well with these, and some only work at lower levels. The ToLiss A319 - maybe the best Airbus simulation ever - offers an elegant solution: (see below) Either "jump to the next waypoint" or "jump 100 miles" appears in the window. I often use it to shorten long boring routes and it takes just few seconds. However, it is only possible for straight flight segments with constant heading, which is often the case on long flights.

Thank you for the hint, I know this possibility. However, I doubt that this acceleration works well. X-Plane already requires high performance computers at normal speed and higher resolutions. At least for me it has other disadvantages, like wild movements on the screen and the difficult determination of the re-entry point for "normal speed".
