Hi, 737NUT.

I'm working on that right now and I've already achieved some significant progress. Some of the features of my plugin:

  • Multi-platform Win, Lin, OSX, both 32 and 64 bit
  • MCP port auto detection
  • Configuration for any plane through text config file (IXEG 733 will be the first)

Stay tuned.

Jorg

OK, folks. Two days later and we have a new CPFlight MCP panel plugin that's ready for alpha testing.

Win64 only, for now. Config file for the IXEG 733, but actually it's easy to adapt to other planes.

I'm looking for a small number of volunteers that would like to test the plugin - and get a free version. 737NUT already has it and tells me that it's looking OK. Who else?

Dear Charlie,

sorry for not responding so long. I took two trips with little time inbetween them.

Yes, I can still send you a test version of the plugin, if you like. We have another user in the Netherlands and he reported it working fine.

Send me a private mail, so I can pack it up for you.

Jorg

Hello to all,

I'm looking around for my CP Flight 737 MCP El. for using it with the IXEG 737 and if possible also other planes such as x737 or similar.

Thanks a lot, cheers.

Is it possible for me to get a copy of the plugin?

Yes, of course. Actually, it's for sale already. See the product description from https://www.midwest737solutions.com below.

If you want to test the plugin, I have included the installer as an attachment to this post. Make sure you have Java installed on your X-Plane computer if you want to run it and take care the the MCP is turned on. You also must have an active internet connection.

I'm still working on the automatic license issuing process. For now, the installer will generate a license request that you should send me by email. I will then respond with a time-limited demo license. Whenever you want, you can upgrade to a full version through the web store.

CPFlight plugin for X-Plane

This software brings together the CPFlight 737 USB hardware panels with X-Plane 10 or 11. While CPFlight provided kind support for developing the plugin, the software itself was developed independently.

The plugin can easily be configured for any airplane in X-Plane by just editing configuration files. Complete documentation is available at https://gitlab.bliesener.com/CPFlight/CPFlight_Mappings/wikis/home. The current version is preconfigured for the following aircrafts:

Mapping files are contiinously updated through the collaborative gitlab site at https://gitlab.bliesener.com/CPFlight/CPFlight_Mappings.

The software runs on Windows (32 and 64 bits), OS (32 and 64 bits) and Linux (64 bits only) and comes in three variations that support the following sets of CPFlight panels:

  • Basic: MCP737PRO or MCP737EL and two EFISs
  • Advanced: MCP737PRO or MCP737EL, two EFISs, MIP, radios (NAV, COM, ATC, ADF), FIRE and TRIM
  • Upgrade: Upgrade existing Basic license to Advanced

More news. The automatic installation process is now completed, no more need to exchange emails and licenses are issued immediately.

A page with detailed installation instructions is available at https://www.midwest737simulations.com/store/cpflight-install.

Every MCP is still entitled for a free and full featured 14 day demo version. Get yours!

Hi Jorg, I tried the demo a couple of days and bought the software yesterday. I was very impressed by how simple it was to set up, being able to use my old MCP transforms the way I fly the IXEG now.

One question though, as to what plans/timeline you have to add IXEG nav, adf, radio, xponder capability to the MCP, that'll really make this software fly?

Thanks

Jon

Thank you very much for your purchase, Jon.

The main reason why the IXEG radios haven't been completely implemented yet is that I don't have a copy of that plane. However, I will visit Rob (737Nut) next week and I definitely will implement radios by then. Stay tuned. If you signed up for the newsletter in the web store, you will also receive an announcement about the new release.

Jon,

sorry for not getting back earlier. Yes, I made some significant progress with the IXEG while I was visiting Rob. I just wasn't able to finish the work, due to lack of time. Thankfully, IXEG provided me with a license for the 733, so I can finish the work. I'll send you a preliminary version of the mapping file for testing, OK?

Igor,

thank you for your message. I'm glad you like it.

I'm not aware of anyone doing mappings for the Saab 340 - haven't had any such request. If you want to develop that mapping, I'd be happy to provide any assistance you may need.

Please check the docs at https://gitlab.bliesener.com/CPFlight/CPFlight_Mappings/wikis/home.

Yours

Jorg

Dear Plugin users,

Just a short update: Yesterday, plugin version 1.1.9 was released, bringing quite a number of improvements. I sent out a newsletter with more detailed information, which is available at https://www.midwest737simulations.com/newsletter-number-01. The plugin now supports the Ethernet based MCP737PRO2 and the complete MIP (at least on Zibo). I also catched up on the IXEG configuration and most of MIP, Fire, etc works now, thanks to Tom Kyler's (IXEG team) help.

In order to get a free time limited demo version, please follow the installation instructions at https://www.midwest737simulations.com/cpflight-install. FAQs are available at https://www.midwest737simulations.com/cpflight-plugin-faqs.

Please let me know if you have additional questions or how I can help you.

Jorg

@Jorg Bliesener

Hi. I continue to enjoy your plugin with IXEG. However, I installed version 1.2.4 Beta, and now I have begun having CTDs and BSoDs when I fly another plane (e.g., LES's Saab). Whenever you plugin is removed, no crashes. I do not seem to be able to return back to the previously stable version either. If you cannot replicate the issue on your PC, I can send you a Log.txt file. Thanks!
