IXEG 737 Gizmo Menu Broken - Aircraft unusable!

I have just purchased from x-aviation and installed 737CL 1.0.7 for X-Plane on the Mac. It's the Steam version.

The aircraft loads and I'm presented with a cold & dark cockpit configuration, but the Gizmo pop-up menu doesn't work.

I've attempted to re-install twice with the same problem recurring.

The relevant section of log.txt appears to be: -

dlerror:dlopen(/Users/matthewcannon/Library/Application Support/Steam/steamapps/common/X-Plane 10/Resources/plugins/Gizmo64.plugin/64/mac.xpl, 6): Symbol not found: _curl_easy_cleanup
  Referenced from: /Users/matthewcannon/Library/Application Support/Steam/steamapps/common/X-Plane 10/Resources/plugins/Gizmo64.plugin/64/mac.xpl
  Expected in: flat namespace
 in /Users/matthewcannon/Library/Application Support/Steam/steamapps/common/X-Plane 10/Resources/plugins/Gizmo64.plugin/64/mac.xpl

Suggesting perhaps that the Gizmo installation has failed.

The file Gizmo64.plugin is present under Resources/plugins/

I've searched the forums for similar issues, but the only Gizmo problems I see reported have either been resolved or are caused by use error. None are relating to the initial display of the Gizmo menu.

Right now this aircraft is practically useless if I can't configure it.

Please can you help?

Thanks.

Thankyou mmerelles, I will try this now.

I can't recall seeing any compatibility issues mentioned in documentation provided by X-Aviation prior to purchasing this product.

The documentation was made when Sierra didn't exist. El Capitan was latest OS from Apple at that time :(

The developers are now focused on the upcoming upgrade with new features, improvements and in preparation for XP11

I tried installing the latest stable version of Gizmo and the problem remained.

Now here's the good news ...

I stumbled on the latest beta version, as announced here: https://en-gb.facebook.com/G64xpl/posts/1799850900304464

Installed it, and Gizmo is up and running!

It turns out that this latest beta of Gizmo also fixes an issue I spotted on the MCP where the IAS and Heading values were not rendering correctly.

I have to say it's not been the nicest unboxing experience. 2 defects in under 5 minutes doesn't fill this customer with confidence!

If X-Aviation are open to constructive feedback then I would remind them that a common practice for avoiding such situations would be for the publisher's QA team to perform shakedown testing on all *candidate platforms*, after which they could declare with some degree of confidence a shortlist of *supported platforms*. A supported platform is simply an environment in which the application installs well, performs well, and continues to perform well with the minimum of fuss. If this were the case for my purchase of 737 Classic, and if "Sierra OS" were absent from the list of supported platforms, then I would have thought twice about purchasing.

Sorry about your experience man. And yea, I do agree there should be system requirements on the XA Page for the plane.

Cameron, I've attached a screenshot taken when things went a bit wrong with the MCP.

Now that everything is working I am happy to say that this is the most enjoyable aircraft I've ever flown in any simulator. I've spent the last couple of hours practicing circuits and CAT III procedures and It's an absolute joy!

Thanks everyone who has replied recently.

I'm encountering another issue where the PFD and Map display are freezing. I'm wondering if this could also be a problem with Gizmo? The displays don't freeze indefinitely - they start working again after 15 minutes or so. Not sure what it is that triggers the freeze (perhaps something I'm doing in the cockpit?). I will observe and raise a bug if it continues.
