But not realistic, if that's what you're after though.

here is my dilema i use blender 2.49 and the rendering is not as good as the other peoples so i wonder how to do some things, such as the wine drink itself doesn't look like wine and the other glasses at the sides i was to lazy to make another mateial just to make it look more like glass.

EDIT - And the shelf, since i was just practicing i didn't want to do to much detail just for display, same with the textures that all the wine glass is sitting on i didn't even texture that i just left it as is.

i am not very good at rendering but i will learn with time, i am more into the textures and modeling, that is what counts, so i decided to model Plankton from Spongbob.

Here are some tips to help improve renders

A. Ambient Occlusion

B. Increase the amount of passes for shadows (found in the lights settings)

or just use cycles

  • 1 month later...

Not sure why this became only 480p, as it's rendered in 720p.. Something I did friday morning in a moment of boredom. Will be bringing this to a PR guy at a local cycle race and see if they want to do some more and better quality work for their website and possibly a live stream online.

Hey guys your work are really sweet ;-)

But I do not understand why everyone who is posting something said " I did that because I was bored ... " like if modelling was an easy and relaxing activity, it is work after all, lot of work when done properly ...

So if you are able to do such things while being bored, what could you achieve if motivated and in a good mood ;-)

At least for me, it is relaxing to a certain extent. I mostly do X-Plane work/modelling now just for fun as a bit of a respite from college work and everything. If I'm done with all my schoolwork I'll either be playing Civ5 or just working on little bits and pieces of things.

Wombat....I know your last post was over a year old....but I have an 'old' BD-5J in progress, or did anyhow......EXCEPT the gear, because I didn't have any good references.  Don't suppose you want to put these guys together to add to the x-pilot file library eh?   We're kicking around some ways to implement an "open source / community projects" type of scenario with mentoring and training and these little aircraft would be good candidates for experimentation.

I sent you a PM a little over a week ago about this but I might as well post here too. I'd definitely be down to combine our works on the BD. I've been doing lots of work in the cockpit of mine with general details as well as instruments so that could be a possibility as well. Here's two quick pictures from ac3d.

The Basic version is restricted to 512x512 texture maps, which isn't a whole lot. To get details like the on I posted, you'll need bigger texture maps. I used 4096x4096 which took about an hour with all the devices I had going. I'm building the terrain in 8192x8192 now. Takes a lot of time.

I'm very interested in finding a way to utilize splat maps from World Machine in LightWave. That would definitely up the quality of any terrain.-
