  1. Bonanza Air Lines - N491

This is a mostly authentic recreation of N491's livery from somewhere between 1949 (when Bonanza Air Lines started operations) and 1963 (when they stopped flying DC-3s). It is only "mostly authentic" because there are not very many reference photos available, and not from all angles, and the ones I do have are not dated.
There are a few technical bits and bobs that aren't right, especially with the reflections/normal maps, as I didn't want to fight with it any longer and the paint kit is lacking. But I think it's 90% there! Please report any glaring issues you find.
Bonanza flew DC-3s in the Southwest/West USA in the 1950s. Included in the zip file are a couple of images of the January 1959 timetable brochure, which shows all their routes at the time.

As with all LES DC-3 liveries, there is both a livery folder (put in your liveries directory) and an "output" folder, which contains the ini files required for airframe management. Drag this output folder into your X-Plane root directory, or copy the ini files within manually to Output/DC3/Modern[and/or Classic].

  3. DC-3 v2 / That's All, Brother

    LIVERY PAINTERS INFO:
Use this livery package as guidance on how to structure your paints. You can start from this package, and change the file and names where is needed.
    INSTALLATION:
Extract the zip file and you'll get 2 folders; Aircraft and Output. Drop those folders in X-Plane's root directory, and make sure to merge folders.
    About the livery:
That's All, Brother is a Douglas C-47 Skytrain aircraft (the military version of the civilian DC-3) that led the formation of 800 others from which approximately 13,000 U.S. paratroopers jumped on D-Day, June 6, 1944, the beginning of the liberation of France in the last two years of World War II. After the war it was returned to the United States and sold to civilian owners, eventually falling victim to neglect until it was found in an Oshkosh, Wisconsin, boneyard in 2015, facing imminent disassembly to be converted into a modern turbine aircraft. It has since been restored and is part of the Commemorative Air Force. (source: Wikipedia)

  5. JAL 1964 Tokyo Olympics livery PMDG DC-6

Japan Airlines 1964 Tokyo Olympics livery.
    Reg:JA6206

The livery differs from the standard only with the Tokyo Olympics logo at the front and the Olympic Flame text at the rear right fuselage.
This aircraft carried the Olympic flame from Athens and was painted with the olympic additions for the duration of 1963-1964

There are some interesting features to this livery. For example a very unique Douglas logo at the rear door.

I changed the base texturing of the bare metal to look more natural with less color fluctuation between panels and a bit darker color.

  8. C47-D-Flottille 56S nr 87

C47-D-Flottille 56S nr 87, livery by Leen "Flybike" de Jager
This repaint is inspired by the French Navy livery for the C47 D It depicts ( more or less ) the nr 87 at the end of its career with the 52S Flottille.
Unless her age, she was a reliable workhorse.
These days she doesn't fly anymore but she still exists, standing at the entrance of the Nimes Naval base.
As I wanted to give an over-all impression of the bird I aimed my brushes on the outside and to the interior, including the panel and cockpit as well.
Did some additional bumpmapping (editing the normals accordingly the changes to the exterior).
At the last moment a found a French crew, willing to fly this bird to you.
    Merci beaucoup mes amis
I hope you`ll all enjoy this skin as much as I enjoyed making it.

  12. "Quetzalcoatl" livery for the LES DC3 /C47

"Quetzalcoatl" livery for the LES DC3 /C47
This is a livery-paint made by Leen "Flybike" de Jager for the Leading Edge Simulations Douglas DC3.
Not just a normal average paint , no, this time a real thrill for those who want someting "obscure and spectacular"
This paint depicts (more or less) the N9012 in a livery for "Bird of the Sun" Air Travel Club.(1978)
Special for this livery is the fact both sides of the plane have different textures.
Both textures show the Maya-god "Quetzalcoatl" ( serpent-alike-symbol) , on the right with an animal-head ,on the left with a more human face , both known from the Maya-culture.
Thats why I named this paint Quetzalcoatl.
As usual this skin-package also includes customised cockpit/cabin texturing and normalmapping.
New for this paint-job is the addition of some "virtual-cabin-windows"(exterior effect only)
    How to install:
Just unzip Quetzalcoatl.zip in a temp folder.
Start reading Quetzalcoatl Readme.PDF carefully FIRST.
I really hope you`ll enjoy this very special and rare livery as much as I did during the extremely time-consuming process of making it.
    Cheers

Livery by Leen “Flybike” de Jager, filename Stampe-F-GKEB.zip for the:
Stampe SV4C with Renault 4P engine
    Version 2.0
    Released by Lamahelo & Beber
for “XPFR.aeronautics” and available on the XPFR website.
Look for STAMPE-SV4C_v.09-270_(33).zip ( designed for XP9 flying like a charm in XP10)
Sometimes a model is so appealing I really wonder why do`nt we all fly this bird?
I installed the little bird in X-Plane10 and I am thrilled.
Really a small jewel , looking so pretty and flying so pleasantly.
As usual I could not resist making an extra attractive skin.
I implemented normal files in the model, added several details as usual, etc.
A big "Merci beaucoup" for my friends from XPFR.

  18. RAF Transport Command LES DC-3

This well maintained DC3 wears the elegant and noble colors of the RAF Transport Command. Originally formed in March of 1943 (Wikipedia) as a unit charged primarily with ferrying aircraft from the factories to the forward operations airbases of World War 2, then later taking over the harrowing task of dropping paratroopers into the fight, this unit was an integral part of the Allied forces war effort. Following WW2, the Transport Command expanded greatly and took part in a number of famous operations such as the Berlin Airlift, utilizing amongst other types, many DC3's designated as Dakotas in Great Britain and wearing these colors. The RAF Transport Command continued to fly with distinction in many historic operations throughout the world, flying millions of miles and visiting every continent save for Antarctica. In 1967 the unit was reduced and renamed the Air Support Command, which reflected a change in task to a more active combat role instead of the transportation of goods and humanitarian aid.
The RAF are renowned for taking great pride in their aircraft, so this DC3 is clean and well maintained. The cockpit is still indicative of a hard working DC3 of course. I've included a conversion for the prop disks to show yellow tips on the spinning props. Instruction are included as a PDF. The livery "RAF Transport Command" folder goes into the usual liveries location within your LES DC3 aircraft folder.
I hope you enjoy flying in the colors of the RAF Transport Command. Thanks!

This is a livery-paint for the Leading Edge Simulations Douglas DC3/C47.
    by Leen "Flybike" de Jager
This paint depicts (more or less) the DC3/C47, Iberia EC-ADR .
The original model had wing-registration, due to the limitations of the texture-mapping of this model, this could not be reproduced. ( grrrrrrrrr..........!!)
Outside-looks based on sparse photo-material, cockpit inside, just one of the many variants (artists impression if you like) and not representing the original one. This might have been the cockpit when this aicraft had been restored by ................ instead of ending on a scrap-yard.

  20. LES DC-3: Spanish Civil War - Republican and Nationalist

The pre-cursor to the DC-3 was the DC-2 which at least externally was a similar looking aircraft to the DC-3. Therefore I am using a certain amount of poetic licence here depicting the two interesting liveries of this earlier aircraft on the LES DC-3.
Therefore these liveries on a DC-3 - rather than a DC-2 - should be considered fictional.
The liveries here of the same aircraft: one before and after capture in action.
In the Spanish Civil War the Republican Air Force used four DC-2s as transports. This particular DC-2 was captured by the Nationalists on 17th June 1936 in Sevilla, in southern Spain. It was immediately re-painted in typical Nationalist colours and was named Capitan Vara de Rey, after the famous 19th Century officer in the Spanish-American War.
Sadly I was unable to find any specific references to the markings originally used by the Republican Forces on their DC-2s, but have constructed this livery based on what appears to be fairly typical Republican livery. There are plenty of good references showing other aircraft. This DC-2, before being re-painted by the Nationalists, is named after the Republican Supreme Commander of Fighters in the Spanish Civil War: Andres Garcia La Calle. The livery shows the widely used fin markings of the Republican Air Force, plus the highly visible red stripes, presumably intended to limit the risks of friendly fire, ground and air.
The original of the wonderful LES DC-3 can of course be found at:
    http://www.x-aviatio...uglas-p-84.html
To install these two liveries, merely unzip the files and put in the original LES DC-3 livery folder.
However, these liveries work all the better when combined with the military cockpit file provided by that master livery maker Leen de Jager which can be found on:
    http://forums.x-plan...&showfile=16470
As before, the liveries are not remotely near the Leen de Jager standard, but they cover an important event in history and I wanted to depict them as best I could.

Paint made by Leen "Flybike" de Jager
This paint depicts (more or less) the DC3/C47, FZ658, Royal Newfoundland Air Force.
Mind the strange "roundel" on the fuselage, this was a political protest on an air-force plane, and caused some fuzz in 1948/9
The original model had wing-registration, due to the limitations of the texture-mapping of this model, this could not be reproduced. ( grrrrrrrrr..........!!)
The skin-set includes cockpit and cabin textures as well.
Pay attention to the difference between the day and night-cabin-textures.
    How to install:
Just unzip FZ658_Newfoundland.zip into a temp. folder, and start reading the readme file
    This livery comes without pilots.

So we can say, this is a kinda "Mama-Dakota"

  25. Shabby-old-panel for the LES DC3 / C47

    Shabby-old-panel for the LES DC3 / C47
    by Leen "Flybike" de Jager
Last weeks I got requests for making an old, a bit worn out, cockpit ( panel, yokes and consoles) for the Leading Edge Simulations DC3/C47.
Suitable for those who really want to fly the plane on one of its last trips or experiece some real risky smuggling-adventures in an airplane wich is.................................you know.
Or better said flying an old bird.................to its restoration.
This panel comes with dark-grey upholstery and floor.
If you want to use the old panel in a livery having another colored upholstery and floor just remove the file named InnerWall.png from this download ( leave InnerWall_NML.png were it is.)
    How to implement?
Just unzip the contents of this zip file into the objects-folder of the livery you want to get the old panel..
Make a backup/copy from this livery first , you might not dare to fly my panel.....it does not look so trustworthy.
    Have fun and enjoy
